Wine and Music

Featured in 256 Magazine

Have you ever been sitting on your porch, listening to music, and just get lost in a song? Have you ever closed your eyes and let your favorite tune wash over you and suddenly you remember where you were the first time you heard it? Maybe it takes you back to a particular time in your life, or brings a tear to your eye. Now think about the wine you had on your honeymoon, sitting next to the one you love – can you taste it? How about that celebratory wine you had when you got the promotion you worked so hard for? Has wine ever tasted this good before? Wine, like music, taps into your senses in such a way that you can actually be transported to another time or place.

I recently was talking to a customer and she said how much she liked smoky Burgundian wines. Every time she tasted one it brought her to when she was little and would sit on her grandpa’s knee, he would puff on his cigar while telling her stories and she noted how just that one sip of wine would make her smile and take her back. Another customer once told me that a rosé on a summer’s day takes her to afternoons with her mom when they would relax on the porch and just laugh all afternoon. Wine is a magical elixir, a time machine of sorts – just one sip can take you on a journey.

So the next time you are in need of a getaway and only have an afternoon, or maybe you are just missing the company of someone you love, open up a bottle of your favorite vino, play a favorite song, close your eyes, and just let yourself enjoy the moment.

Church Street Wine Shoppe – come by, grab a bottle, and enjoy a memory, or maybe make a new one!

Great little place with great people! Loved every second of it, thank you!
