I grew up on Long Island, NY, where my father worked as a Planner for Grumman and my mother was a homemaker. I am the fourth of five kids and have lived in NYC, Florida, Northern NJ, and Southern California before moving here to Huntsville with my husband Matthew. My husband grew up in Scottsboro, AL, spending second through tenth grades there. While visiting my in-laws, we fell in love with Huntsville and moved here in 2010.
I studied Design and Merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, NY, and graduated in 1993. I worked in retail before launching my fashion career in NYC working for many fashion houses. In 2000 I started at the apparel manufacturing giant Kellwood as Assistant Strategic Planner overseeing the Sag Harbor label, then overseeing and managing the launch of the IZOD women’s brand. In 2008 we relocated to Southern California and I was promoted to Director of Strategic Planning and Process Improvement for all of Kellwood’s lifestyle brands, overseeing the division on both the east and west coasts.
After enjoying our first years in Huntsville volunteering in many programs around town, in 2014 my husband and I launched Church Street Wine Shoppe in downtown Huntsville, a natural endeavor as we share a passion for wine and entertaining. We are a full service wine shoppe as we have a wine and tap beer bar where you can get daily flights and tastings or just sit and relax with a beautiful glass of wine. We also offer tapas. We are extremely passionate and knowledgeable and truly enjoy discussing wine and educating our guests. And that is how we look at every customer who walks in our door – as a guest in our home, no one should ever feel intimidated to stop in and ask a question or look for their favorite wine. We are always happy to help find just the right wine or beer for you!
